It’s so hateful to have this attitude. No one is better or worse than you because of their shape. Putting others down for your own self-worth is sad but it’s a downright travesty if you do it for the approval of men. You can’t generalize an entire gender’s tastes.

Now this metaphor is cheesy but fitting and effective. Think of all the different flowers in the world. Who could argue that one flower was the ideal flower for a women? If you could argue that the rose was, would you really claim that no other flower could compare to it’s beauty? The majority of us can appreciate all sorts of different types of flowers. If we can appreciate variation in flowers why can’t we with ourselves? It’s as if whatever is presented as “the rose” or ideal characteristic somehow turns the rest of the flowers/characteristics into dirt we should be ashamed of.

There is no ideal beauty. You are beautiful, you right now reading this, you are absolutely beautiful. Whether you’re a rose, a lily, a sunflower or a fricking dandelion!

Love your body, take care of it and know it’s a priviledge to have.
